The cut

How I shape an edit.

I adjust the pace to the material, keep technical ideas legible, and cut repetition without flattening the speaker’s voice.

  1. 01

    Find the through-line

Arrange the material so each idea sets up the next one.

  2. 02

    Control the energy

Use rhythm, visual emphasis, and restraint to keep momentum without exhausting the viewer.

  3. 03

    Protect the voice

Remove repetition without flattening cadence, character, or a useful pause.
